Stonehell, Here I Come!

My gaming world is expanding recently at an incredible rate. This is a good thing.

I'm now playing with three different groups (if anyone had told me this a year or two ago, I would have thought it insane):
  1. The Monday Night Group (Tim from Gothridge Manor, Ken from Rusty Battleaxe, Rob from Bat in the Attic, Dan, and one or two others I haven't yet met -- a great bunch of guys) who have welcomed me into their ranks;
  2. My own West Kingdom Game (Sonofotho, Dan from the Command Tent, Professor P and Dienekes -- also a great bunch with whom I've been playing for over a year).
  3. Sonofotho's PbP Stonehell game about to start over on the Labyrinth Lord forums.
I played in Sonofotho's previous Labyrinth Lord campaign (that was my return to RPG play after 20 some odd years), and I'm pretty excited about this one too. All the players of the new game are members of Sonofotho's previous campaign (Redwullf, Spanningtree, Badams30, Erny, Grey Area) and they're an awesome bunch too.

Yes, I know this is getting sappy with me saying how great everybody is, but what can I say? I've been lucky. In two years or so of gaming with people on the internet, I've been fortunate enough to stumble only on decent folks, and haven't yet met any chaotic evil players.

Anyway, it's my blog, and I can spread as much sunshine as I want. I'll be going out to walk my unicorn after I finish this post. Did I mention it's a beautiful spring day here?

So, Sonofotho's Stonehell game: characters are 3d6 in order, with a lot of random elements (name, previous occupation, skeleton in the closet, quirk, hand of fate, etc.). If I'm reading the signs right, high casualty rates may be expected.

So before he gets a chance to be killed off, here is...

MATHORBRI, Elf

Image Created with HeroMachine 2.5

Mathorbri was the son of a rat-catcher. He tried following in his father's footsteps, but the trade never really suited him. A bit brighter than most, he read everything he could get his hands on, and his head was always filled with ideas of adventure and treasure – in particular he dreamed of valuable ancient relics. Rat-catching paid little, and was surprisingly dangerous. A job-related illness that ruined his teeth and very nearly killed him made this all too evident. So Mathorbri decided to abandon rat-catching for the life of an adventurer. The risks were no worse and the payoff was bigger. He took what money he had saved, used his quick wit to increase it at the gambling table, then bought some gear. He then set out for Stonehell and the ancient riches it was rumored to hold.

  1. You are going to busy writing a lot of session reports. Glad to have you in our group. It's been a lot of fun so far. I wonder sometimes why I didn't ask earlier.

  3. @Tim: You didn't ask sooner because of the bad experience you had with me.

    @Bard: I was going to say that "Everything is coming up Bard" but that seems really awkward and a little wrong. I am glad you are in our gaming group and it is always groovy when gaming stuff is going well.
