Got some cool stuff in the mail last evening. First off:
Never played before but I'm eager to give it a go.
Also:
Another gap in my rpg experience. It's one of those strange things, but I never had a copy of the Tomb of Horrors. Finally got one (along with the rest of the S-Series).
And although it obviously hasn't come yet, I couldn't resist the call of:
So I hopped onto that kickstarter. I actually plan to blame this one on Tim when my wife sees my credit card bill.
Yay! I am no longer the GURPS newbie!
ReplyDeleteYeah, go on, rub it in.
DeleteI blame Tim, too. As does his wife.
ReplyDeleteHey now, wait on cotton pick'n minute. First of all Ken, you are still a GURPs newb. Second Ken and Bard, you wanted it. All I did was provide a map. Don't blame me. Blame the 12 year-old in you who could not buy all the exciting things you wanted back then. We are still those 12 year-olds boys, but now we are armed with credit cards.
ReplyDeleteThe Mrs. found your "12 year-old boys armed with credit cards" quite amusing.
DeleteI blame Tim, but I can't say too much right now because our ten years together is coming up and I'm getting a VitaMix. Which will be more than all his Kickstarters together. I think. Actually, now I'm not sure.
ReplyDeleteWow, ten years! Congrats!
DeleteWelcome to the GURPS community.
ReplyDeleteI feel kinda bad now. I must have 3-4 copies of each of the S series, even after giving a few away. Maybe only 2 of White Plume Mountain. I'm glad people finally are getting to see the ones they missed. I just assumed all these years that everyone kept all their D&D stuff since childhood like I did.
Thanks for the welcome!
DeleteYeah, as I've gotten back into RPGs in the last couple of years, I've really regretted all the stuff I gave away to people when I was in grad school (I just assumed I'd never again have the time to play, so I gave stuff to people I figured would use it).
I've now managed to replace (luckily at a reasonable cost) just about everything I regretted giving away.
The S-Series though is one I never actually owned -- so the only regret there was not having it in the first place.
Bright shiny paper things, what could be better!
ReplyDeleteAlways cool to get stuff like that in the mail.
ReplyDeleteNice haul. I'm a big fan of GURPS even though I now find it a little crunchy for everyday use.
